Audiology: hearing aid services
Who is this service for?
Patients must be aged 50 or over and have been referred by, and be registered with, a West Sussex GP. Patients under 50 will be referred by their GP to the approriate service at a local hospital.
What does this service do?
Action for Deafness provides a full NHS Audiology Service
This service includes:
- Advice on a wide range of hearing services and products.
- Comprehensive training for all new hearing aid users.
- Advice and maintenance at hearing aid clinics.
The service aims to provide an affordable, dedicated direct referral hearing aid assessment, fitting, follow up and ongoing support service for the West Sussex community.
Where are patients seen?
Action for Deafness has sites in Haywards Heath, Steyning and Worthing.
How can I access this service?
Initial referrals will be made by your GP for patients considered for hearing aids.
There are also walk-in Resource Centres which supply batteries and tubing – where no appointment is necessary. You can find the opening times on the Action for Deafness website.
